On Saturday, August 16th, the Beta Sigma Alumni Association sponsored our first ever Move-In Day for Parents to meet Alumni....and afterward, we had a Cookout.
Leo Laughlin, Gary Parmenter, Ed Black, Rich Craddock and I had a chance to mingle with the parents and explained to them that this Fall, we will be implementing a Formal Study Table program to insure that the students properly prepare for classes. We want the Actives to succeed and be part of the next generation of leaders that has found our Alumni Group boasting over 50 President's of companies.
I EVEN GOT HIGH FIVES FROM SOME OF THE PARENTS!!!!
This Sunday evening, Leo Laughlin, Gary Parmenter and I will be conducting interviews with each member of the Fraternity. We will then come up with a plan on the number of hours we feel are needed for each Active to put them on a path for success and ultimately, Graduation. As we begin this journey, we will take a benchmark GPA with hopes of improving this number every semester. In addition, our ultimate goal is a 100% Graduation Rate.
Furthermore, as part of our stated Philanthropy, for those students requiring additional assistance, we have pledged our support to provide Tutors on an as needed basis. First, we will work with University recommended Tutors, and if that is not enough, the Alumni Association will pay for private Tutors.
